Defeated by Arsenal, Gabriel Paulista promises to muster the best at the Mestalla
Gabriel failed to stem his former club in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final, but he wanted to avenge the defeat at the next meeting.
Valencia defender Gabriel Paulista carried the mission of revenge when he later got the turn to entertain Arsenal in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final next week.
Valencia were forced to beat 3-1 when they traveled to the Emirates Stadium in the first meeting on Friday (3/5) early this morning, with Mouctar Diakhaby's opening goal in the 11th minute to be rewarded instantaneously by brace Alexandre Lacazette, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang secured the victory of the home team ahead of dispersal.
The defeat at Arsenal's headquarters last night was not necessarily lamented by Gabriel, who had been part of the Gunners between 2015 and 2017, even he was determined to bring Valencia to the final.
"I will mobilize everything in the second leg, just as the supporters will give all their support to encourage us," Gabriel told the official UEFA website.
"We will show the best in order to get this club to the final," he stressed.
